ICAEW appoints new regulatory board member
ICAEW has announced the appointment of Sandra Mundy to its regulatory board. Sandra has been appointed as a non-lay member of the ICAEW Regulatory Board (IRB) with effect from 12 March for a three-year term.
Sandra Mundy is a Chartered Accountant and licensed Insolvency Practitioner who focuses on restructuring and insolvency. A partner at James Cowper Kreston since 2009, Sandra leads the firm’s turnaround restructuring and insolvency team and is a member of its strategy committee.
Previously, Sandra has worked as a member of ICAEW’s Restructuring and Insolvency advisory group and more recently as a member of the Appeals Committee from 2018 to 2024.
The IRB is responsible for oversight of ICAEW’s regulatory and disciplinary work to ensure that it is acting in the public interest and strengthening trust in the profession.
The Board has parity of lay and chartered accountant members and was established in 2014 to enhance the distinction between ICAEW’s representative and regulatory roles, following an independent review of its regulatory governance.
Sandra Mundy said:
“Ensuring public confidence in the accountancy profession is of utmost importance to me. I am committed to working collaboratively with my fellow Board members to uphold the required high standards, and strengthen trust and confidence across the profession.”
