Westcotts achieves Gold Standard in employee development with new accreditation

Leading South West accountancy firm Westcotts has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People Gold accreditation, marking a significant milestone in the firm’s commitment to employee development and workplace excellence.

The achievement places Westcotts in the top 11% of all organisations accredited by Investors in People, an internationally recognised standard operating across 101 countries. This latest recognition builds upon their silver accreditation received in 2021, demonstrating continued growth in their people management practices.

“This really is a fantastic achievement for our firm. I have always believed that our team, their knowledge and commitment are our greatest asset. Our continual strive to improve our team engagement has taken a huge amount of work and achieving gold demonstrates that we have significantly improved over the past 3 years,” said managing partner Shona Godefroy.

Assessors noted comprehensive improvements across all measured areas since their last evaluation three years ago, with particular advancement in training provision, performance management, sustainable success, and teamwork. The firm’s innovative approach to employee support includes personalised onboarding plans, a buddy system for new starters, and regular training and wellbeing activities.

The firm, which has been part of the Investors in People program for over 25 years, ranks in the top third of accredited firms in the accountancy and finance sector. With offices across Devon and Somerset, Westcotts has been providing accounting and business advisory services to South West businesses and individuals for more than three decades.

“We are thrilled to have achieved the prestigious Investors in People gold accreditation, a reflection of Westcotts commitment to excellence in people management and development. This accomplishment is a testament to the investment we’ve made into our HR, recruitment, and training departments,” says Simon Irvin, Head of Human Resources at Westcotts.

This latest accolade reinforces Westcotts’ position as a leading employer in the South West’s professional services sector, highlighting their commitment to creating an environment where employees feel valued, motivated, and connected to the firm’s vision and values.
