UK accountancy firm Streets has announced the establishment of Streets Eadie Young Chartered Accountants following a merger with Banbury-based Eadie Young Chartered Accountants. The two firms have similar values and a shared vision for the future of the profession.
The merger is expected to provide greater continuity of service for clients and improved career prospects for team members. Nathan Bignell, a director with Eadie Young, becomes managing director of Streets Eadie Young.
Streets Chartered Accountants is a mid-tier, multi-regional accountancy, assurance and tax advisory firm with 20 offices across the UK. The firm looks after a diverse portfolio of clients including entrepreneurial growth companies, owner-managed and family businesses, high net worth individuals, and third sector not-for-profit organisations. It landed at #45 of Accountancy Age’s 50 + 50 rankings for 2022.
By merging with Eadie Young, Streets will be able to offer a wider range of services to clients. This includes specialist corporate and private client tax planning, international advice, and personal financial planning.
The merger also allows Streets Chartered Accountants to establish a presence in Oxfordshire, which is part of the Oxford-Cambridge Arc. The firm’s managing partner, Paul Tutin, said that they were considering opening a new office in the county, but preferred to join up with another like-minded firm.
Streets Law, the firm’s corporate and commercial law offering, led by managing director and solicitor, Adam Aisthorpe, undertook the legal work on behalf of Streets for the merger. This included drafting the sale and purchase agreement and dealing with the due diligence process in collaboration with internal colleagues in the tax and audit teams at Streets.
Legal work on behalf of the shareholders of Eadie Young Ltd was led by Hitendra Patel, director and head of company commercial with regional law firm, Spratt Endicott Solicitors.
Streets Chartered Accountants remains committed to looking after clients that live, work, and operate businesses in the local area. The firm’s strategic focus for growth includes further mergers with like-minded firms, with the aim of becoming a top 20 UK practice by 2030.
