Accounting and audit tech update: QuickBooks, AuditBoard and more

On March 2, QuickBooks became one of the first major accountancy software providers to be granted production credentials for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self-Assessment (MTD for ITSA). As a result, the firm’s software will be included in HMRC’s ITSA pilot.

QuickBooks has also struck a new strategic partnership with Northern Irish firm PGR Chartered Accountants. Announced on March 3, the partnership will enable Quickbooks’ software to “improve the levels of information” among PGR’s clients.

On March 21, software group Eureka Solutions announced the launch of its new tool, Cloud Data Exchange. The solution is aimed primarily at the online retail sector and will seek to offer “big wins” to the tax and accounting advisers of these businesses.

On March 24, law tech company SeedLegals announced a new partnerships scheme to help accountants and accountancy practices better serve their startup and SME clients. Accountants will be able to offer more legal and business admin services to their clients as a result of the development.

Finally, on March 24, newly-founded European audit tech firm AuditBoard officially opened its EMEA HQ in London. The new location will provide regional support for the firm’s userbase of 10,000, it said.
