Accounting and audit tech update: Xero, Square and more

On September 1, The Neat Co. announced the launch of two new bookkeeping and invoicing applications: NeatBooks and NeatInvoices. Both will be aimed at small businesses, with the former providing “statement-less reconciliation” and the latter allowing users to create, send and manage invoices from a desktop or mobile device while accepting customer payments through a credit or debit card.

Weave, an all-in-one customer communication platform for small businesses, has integrated with QuickBooks Online (QBO). Announced on September 14, the integration will allow QBO users access to Weave’s data syncing, text preferences, email marketing and more.

On September 21, cloud accounting software firm Xero announced that it has expanded its global partnership with Square. Square has chosen Amaka, one of Xero’s app partners, to deliver its accounting integration in all relevant global markets, with features such as an ability to reconcile Square sales in Xero, capture point-of-sale transactions, and accept Square payments on Xero invoices.

On September 28, financial services customer data platform Sensibill announced the launch of its Invoice Extraction API. The new solution will allow businesses to upload paper and digital invoices seamlessly and quickly via a fully automated process.
