London based accounting firm Jeffreys Henry LLP has united with Morison KSi, a leading global accounting association, reflecting on its desire to support clients in different parts of the world and gaining access to over 152 global member firms. The union was effective starting on the 2nd of September 2019.

Justin Randall, Managing Partner of Jeffreys Henry said:

Whilst we remain an entirely independent firm, this move gains us access to over 152 carefully selected independent member firms in 81 countries. I am confident this strategic move will help support our ever-growing client base as their requirements extend beyond the UK and will help us attract more cross border and inward investment assignments.

In an interview with Justin Randall, managing partner, and Bhimal Hira, chief marketing officer at Jeffreys Henry – both explained the company’s decision and expectations for joining Morison KSi:

We have a long track record in assisting overseas companies list on the UK markets and supporting UK companies as they expand overseas. In fact, we were pioneers in the mid ‘70’s when we set up JHI as one of the first international accounting networks. The opportunity arose to join Morison KSi when Kingston Smith left to join Moore Stephens International and both parties quickly found a number of mutual benefits. A key point for us was the breadth of the Morison KSi coverage and the quality of other member firms. It also helped that we already knew one of the major US firms in Morison KSi because they were also a founding member of JHI.

We are also quite unique in terms of the number of listed companies that we act for. We currently audit 24 listed companies in the UK and a further 20 companies listed on European markets, which ranks us 10th in the latest (August 2019) league table of auditors, by the number of total stock market clients.

Both acknowledged the post-Brexit environment triggered the firm to move forward in this direction, perceiving the global coverage as a ‘considerable advantage’:

With one of the lowest corporation tax rates in Europe and specialist tax breaks such as R&D Tax Relief, more and more international companies are looking at the UK as a viable option for expansion or list on the junior markets such as AIM. Being part of a big global network like Morison KSi gives us the ability to support such companies as they enter the UK.

Jeffreys Henry LLP won the Accounting Excellence award for Specialist Team of the year 2018 and Mid-Tier Firm of the Year 2016 at the British Accountancy Awards.

Morison KSi has over 9,000 professional staff and a turnover exceeding $900 million, ranking in the top 25 international accounting associations.

Jean-Pierre Larroze, Chairman of Morison KSi commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jeffreys Henry LLP to Morison KSi as a member firm.”

“As well as sharing our values and commitments, their range of services and expertise across the Capital Markets, Technology and Hospitality sectors, will add considerable value to our wider global network and their clients,” he added.

Randall and Hira, the two representatives of Jeffreys Henry, concluded:

We are very excited about joining Morison KSi, we see it as an opportunity for our existing clients with international aspirations to be able to get access to high quality accounting, audit and tax advice in other countries. It is also an opportunity for us to collaborate with other member firms as their clients seek UK support.
