Deloitte appoints first female Managing Partner for Consulting

Anne-Marie Malley has been appointed managing partner for Consulting in the UK after incumbent Richard Houston moves on to become senior partner and chief executive of Deloitte NSE and UK, ranked 2nd in the Accountancy Age Top 50+50.

Malley led the firm’s human capital consulting practice since 2011 and, in this new role, she will help the firm’s largest clients implement business transformation projects.

“Anne-Marie has a proven track record of being a bold and visionary leader and is keenly focused on our clients’ success,” said Houston in a statement. “I know she will bring the same enthusiasm and dedication to her new role and reinforce our leading position in delivering digital transformation programmes for our clients.”

Malley became partner at Deloitte in 2005, after joining the firm from Arthur Andersen in 1996.

“Consultancy plays a crucial role in helping businesses solve challenges and grasp new opportunities,” said Malley in a statement.

“Organisations across the UK are having to navigate significant obstacles and market developments. By tackling these issues head on, organisations can achieve their business objectives, whether that is to remain globally competitive, attract and retain the best people, benefit from emerging technologies or future-proof the skills of their workforce,” she said.

Malley is a particular advocate of greater collaboration between business, government and educators to support the development of technological skills in the current and future workforce, as well as the need for businesses to prepare for automation.

Deloitte’s consulting practice employs 5,500 people in the UK, and saw revenue grow by 1.7% to £873m in the financial year ending 31 May 2018.
