Haines Watts capitalise on 16% national growth

Haines Watts secures their presence across the country and strengthens their position in London

Haines Watts are continuing a very successful 2018 with further acquisitions across the country since July this year: London, Wirral, Nottingham, Tillicoultry, Leicester, and Tewkesbury.

These acquisitions follow on from impressive statistics released earlier this year, in which Haines Watts was recorded to have a 16% national growth. In our Accountancy Age rankings, the firm showed the strongest growth in the top 20 for a multidisciplinary firm. The latest six acquisitions will only strengthen this surge in growth, their estimated value being placed at £7m.

Through the firm’s merger with CB Chartered Accountants in Tewkesbury and Worcester, Haines Watts has established the first permanent base for the firm in the Gloucestershire region. John Painter, CB Chartered Accountants founder and managing partner, said: “Working with Haines Watts is a strong step forward, as it secures the quality of advice that our clients are looking for.”

As well as this, Haines Watts has been named as of the Geneva Group International (GGi) Member Firms of the Year. This is an award that “recognises firms that are prominent in particular areas of excellence within the GGi community, reflecting the innovation, achievement, strategy, and progress taking place within the industry.”

The firm will also have a more settled base in London through their 2018 acquisition of Gallaghers Chartered Accountants. This has led to central London offices that employ 150 people and turns over £15m in fees of the total £28m fees generated in the London region for Haines Watts.

Haines Watts’ growth plan in the East Midlands has been strengthened through the acquisitions in Leicester and Nottingham, solidifying the firm’s aim to become “the premier business advisor to SME businesses in the region.”

Michael Davidson, group managing partner at Haines Watts, said: “Over the last few months we have been continuing to build on the great growth that we have already seen this year. Our most recent acquisitions strengthen our regional presence throughout the country and allow us to offer a full range of services across UK regions. From business improvement, growth planning, tax advisory, and R&D tax relief claims all the way to international trading, we are excited to see our specialist offerings improve and grow as we continue our ambitious growth plans.”
