20. Richard Marsh, Director, Grant Thornton UK LLP

Marsh is a director at Grant Thornton having joined the firm as a graduate in 2006. He heads up the Entrepreneurial Private Client (EPC) team across the South having spent the past 11 years in the tax team. He has worked on complex deals with transaction value in excess of £100m and has a strong external professional network in the marketplace.

Marsh is consulted widely throughout the firm on tax matters and as the EPC practice lead in the South manages individuals in different locations as well as having restructured and built the team to deliver performance and targets.

19. Sarah Gardener, Director, Shaw Gibbs

Gardener is the youngest equity director to be appointed at Shaw Gibbs in the firm’s history. She is responsible for one of the fastest growing corporate portfolios in the practice and also leads the real estate team.

Gardener is part of a newly formed strategic and management board responsible for the future growth and development of the Group, which has a strong focus on technology and M&A activity. One of her key roles on the board is to lead on the future marketing and development of the business.

18. Ian Matthews, Partner, Kingston Smith

Matthews joined Kingston Smith as a trainee in 2005 and became partner in May 2017 at the age of 32. During his time at the firm, he has advised owner-managed businesses across a number of sectors, and with his tax experience has helped clients achieve their personal and professional aspirations.

He has been the driving force behind the founding and development of Redhill Business Guild, which aims to enhance Redhill as a place to live, work and do business, promoting Redhill as a business force in the South East. Matthews was elected as the Guild’s first elected chairman last year.

17. Jackson Murray, Senior Manager, Grant Thornton UK LLP

Murray joined Grant Thornton as an audit trainee in November 2012 and has received four promotions in quick succession to senior manager. He has led on the audit of large and complex public bodies across the NHS, local government and police sectors, and is the South West lead for the firm in business development for the police sector.

Murray is also the regional people lead, raising the profile on people, culture and wellbeing across the team. He sits on the regional operations board within the South West audit practice and has responsibility for people management across the team of over 80 audit staff.

16. Alexander Kossoff, Partner, Grunberg and Co.

Kossoff has spearheaded Grunberg & Co.’s technological advancement, acting as a key advocate for a paperless environment and for management software via the cloud. He was made partner at Grunberg & Co. in October 2017. He has been responsible for leading the due diligence team on the £30m sale of Hotcourses, a marketing company, and was closely involved in the complex international accounting requirements of the deal.

He is one of two partners under the age of 35 at Grunberg & Co.
