It’s our final reveal of the week ahead of announcing the Top Ten next week. Here are the five individuals at 11-15 on the 35 Under 35 2018.

15. Chris Young, Partner, Real Estate, BDO LLP

Young joined BDO as a graduate in 2005. In 2009, he was seconded to the firm’s office in the Cayman Islands where he specialised in investment funds managing a diverse portfolio of funds with a wide variety of investment mandates reporting under IFRS and US GAAP.

Young moved back to the London office in 2011 and quickly progressed to director, focusing on residential property developers and real estate funds with his portfolio including FTSE 250 and AIM listed businesses. In May this year, Young was promoted to partner and is among the youngest of a group of six new partners in the London audit group at BDO.

14. Gary Woodhall, Director & Regional Head of Audit & Accounting

As regional head of audit & accounting at Haines Watts in the South – East Midlands and director of the regional business, Woodhall is one of firm’s leading technical audit directors across Haines Watts nationwide. He sits on the National Audit Committee and actively ensures adherence to best practice while supporting innovation.

Woodhall has been instrumental in introducing AI and data analytics into the firm’s audit methodology and has presented on audit services and the future of audit at managing partner events. He is also responsible for bringing a number of his team through to promotion and plays a significant role in development in the firm.

13. Lara Brennan, Senior Manager, Accounting & Outsourcing, Mazars LLP

A senior manager at the Mazars Poole office, Brennan head the growth, delivery and implementation team for SME clients. She leads a team of 12 and works with clients locally, nationally and internationally. She is at the forefront of the firm’s research to implement innovative solutions for clients and has made significant contributions to the UK innovation group.

Brennan has designed and delivered think tanks to clients to share insight and experiences, and offers key business advice on preparations for Making Tax Digital, AI and business intelligence at external events.

12. Jamie Sherman, Partner, Kingston Smith

Sherman joined Kingston Smith as a graduate in 2006 and became a partner in 2015 at the age of 31. He specialises in professional practices and technology companies, advising clients on growth aspirations and compliance issues.

He also heads up the AAT recruitment for the firm and is heavily involved in training and development, including leading changes to Kingston Smith’s training strategy in response to technological advances in the profession.

11. Adam Rollason, Tax Manager, Grant Thornton

Rollason joined Grant Thornton in 2017 having started a career in taxation in 2012. He specialises in advising owner managers on corporate transactions. In 2014, he was named in the 25ATT25 list and last year was crowned Birmingham’s young finance professional of the year.

He sits on the Chartered Institute of Taxation’s OMB committee, attending quarterly meetings in London and feeding into HMRC consultation responses, and is also on the Birmingham branch committee.

Rollason is a voluntary adviser for Tax Help for Older People, which arranges one-on-one visits to older individuals who are experiencing problems with their tax affairs but cannot pay for professional advice due to low levels of income.
