Bio

Izza graduated from Durham University and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986 with Coopers & Lybrand. In 1989, he joined John Labatt Ltd., a Canadian company, where he spent seven years, leaving his role as managing director of the retail arm of the business in 1996.

Between 1997-2001, Izza worked for Spring Group Plc, where he was managing director of multiple businesses and group finance director.

Izza became chief executive of the ICAEW in 2006, having previously held the positions of ICAEW executive director of finance and operations, and chief financial officer.

His leadership at ICAEW has focused on transforming the organisation into an international professional accountancy body, promoting growth and business confidence worldwide.

Izza has been heavily involved with government policy, chairing three Treasury working groups and as a member of the Small Business Economic Forum.

Inclusion in Financial Power List 2018

Izza was named in 40th position in the Accountancy Age Financial Power List 2018.
