Marco Schwartz appointed as KPMG's UK head of equity capital markets, as the firm targets further growth
Marco Schwartz is the new UK head of equity capital markets at KPMG.
Based in London, Schwartz will report jointly to Sanjay Thakkar, head of deal advisory in the UK, and Ralf Nachtigall, head of equity capital markets in the EMA (Europe, Middle East, Africa and India region). He joined KPMG on 6 November.
Thakkar said that the firm had “greta momentum” in the ECM area, and opportunities to grow were “very significant”. “Marco will be responsible for driving the deployment of our capabilities.”
Schwartz previusly served at Barclays, where he was a managing director in ECM for several years. Prior to Barclays he worked at Deutsche Bank. Over his career, he has held numerous ECM leadership roles in the UK and Asian regions.
Nachtigall added: “Marco has an exceptional track record and brings a wealth of experience to KPMG’S Equity Capital Markets advisory business, which will help us to deliver best in class ECM advice.”
The equity capital markets advisory business was set up in 2015 and recently has advised on two major ECM transaction of approximately €500m (£431m) each.
