F-Type Jaguar engineer joins Grant Thornton’s automotive division

ONE OF THE AUTOMOTIVE sector’s most influential figures has joined Grant Thornton as a consultant.

Bob Joyce, who has served with Jaguar Land Rover as chief engineer and was ranked in Debrett’s 2015 Top 500 most influential individuals list, will work with the top six firm to develop solutions in the rapidly-changing industry.

He has an honorary doctorate from the University of Leicester, is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Joyce has helped steer engineers to new ways of thinking, and on the corporate side has worked in turnaround situations and strategic partnerships.

“The firm’s dedication to quality and unlocking sustainable growth in clients has resulted in a strong market offering,” said Joyce. “I am committed to working closely with its existing team of industry experts to build on this further and ensure its success continues.”

Neil Barrell, Grant Thornton global automotive lead and UK head of industry and manufacturing, said Joyce would be able to help his team “across the whole value chain”.

“The industry is complex and our team’s ability to identify key business opportunities and areas which can have the maximum impact for our clients is paramount. This focus will be instrumental in continuing to help our clients globally make positive, long-term changes to their businesses.”

Grant Thornton is ranked 5th in the 2016 Top 50+50 Survey, supported by Sage, with £534m in fee income for the y/e 30 June 2016.
