Which Big Four firms are the best employers in the UK?

BIG FOUR firms KPMG, PwC and Deloitte have been included in LinkedIn’s list of the 25 top attracting employers in the UK, along with some of the world’s largest media, technology and financial services firms.

KPMG finished the highest of the three professional services firms, landing in at seventh place, while PwC finished in the top half at 11th, and Deloitte ranked in 21st place. Retail giant John Lewis, famous for its shared equity model, finished in top spot.

The professional services social network analysed “billions of actions taken by our 433m members to come up with a blended score that we used to rank the winners in each geography,” as you will be able to see the top companies across Australia, Brazil, France, India, the US and the UK.

The platform looked at employers’ Job application, Engagement and ‘New Hire Staying Power’ data to achieve the results.

LinkedIn’s list found that KPMG’s workforce has never been larger, now at close to 174,000 people globally. Last year, the audit and consulting company hired 24,000 new graduates, a record, and created the largest partner class it’s ever had, promoting roughly 650 employees into that coveted role.

On PwC, which recently signed up to HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter, LinkedIn found that in 2015, 79% of PwC employees globally reported that they get to contribute to challenging assignments, a key factor in employee retention.

According to LinkedIn’s statistics, Deloitte receives 1.9 million applications annually. It also encourages employees to give back: In the 2015 fiscal year, employees spent 340,000 hours on pro-bono assignments and more than 820,000 hours volunteering.

Emma Codd, managing partner for talent at Deloitte UK, said: “We are pleased to be recognised by LinkedIn as one of the UK’s most attractive employers.  We strive to offer our people challenging, rewarding and agile careers, working alongside inspiring colleagues in a culture where you can thrive, develop and succeed based on your talent.”
