US lawyers called in by PwC to investigate Phones 4U

US LAWYERS have been recruited by PwC’s Phones 4U insolvency team as part of the process following the phone retailer’s collapse.

PwC’s Rob Hunt, Ian Green and Rob Moran have appointed Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan as part of the investigation process following the insolvency of the phone retailer, reported Sky News.

The lawyers are expected to focus on the conduct of Phones 4U’s directors and those of the phone companies EE and Vodafone, the networks that pulled out of supplies to the retailer. There is currently no evidence of any breaches of duty by the directors.

Stores and concessions have been picked up or converted by Dixons Carphone, Vodafone UK and EE, saving 2,000 jobs – although 2,500 roles have been lost. Phones 4U collapsed into administration in September.
