ONE OF THE MOST senior finance chiefs has been appointed chair of the body representing the UK’s accounting bodies.
Jann Brown, the former MD and CFO Cairn Energy, is named chair of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB). The body represents ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA and ICAI.
ICAS-qualified Brown is busy with office holdings, serving as president of ICAS. She is also audit committee chair of the audit committees of Wood Group and Troy Income & Growth Trust, as well as a trustee of Edinburgh University Investments
ACCA-qualified Anthony Harbinson steps down as CCAB chair.
Brown said she would “”energetically” take forward the CCAB’s agenda of communicating the value of the profession and its work to create sustainable growth.
“The profession comes together as CCAB to rebuild trust and to continue to further our agenda of ‘Accountants for Growth’,” said Brown. “Part of this is helping the wider public and the political world to better understand the value that professional accountants play in local, national and global economies as a force for creating wealth, prosperity and public good.”
