KPMG partner takes EY role to bolster the firm’s advisory practice
EY has recruited former KPMG partner Mark Hutchinson to strengthen its advisory practice.
Hutchinson was most recently a partner and head of management consulting at KPMG where he has worked on different occasions throughout his career. Hutchinson joined the firm in 2011 as head of management consulting taking up a partner role in 2005 and prior to that was MD of Parson Consulting.
KPMG is where Hutchinson started out his career in 1992, leaving two years later to join CME KHBB as finance director. He then returned to KPMG in 1997 as a principal consultant, leaving again in 1999to become a partner at Circus Communications before his time at Parson.
In his new role, Hutchinson will focus on large scale transformation projects and work alongside FTSE 100 companies. EY has ambitious plans to be number one advisory market provider by 2020.

EY was fourth in the 2013 Accountancy Age Top 50+50 league table with a fee income of £1.6bn for the year ended 30 June 2012, which represented an 11% increase on the previous year.
Meanwhile KPMG came third with a fee income of £1.8bn, a 4% increase on 2011, for the year ended 30 September 2012.
