Mazars snaps up another group of RSM Tenon partners
Mazars finds rich pickings among former RSM Tenon partners as further eight partners leave for rival
EIGHT PARTNERS from RSM Tenon’s former Edinburgh office have joined Mazars, following the loss of a similar-sized group of partners to its rival only months before.
A total of 15 partners have now left the firm, acquired by Baker Tilly in a pre-pack deal in August, to join mid-tier rival Mazars over the past four months.
The latest group of partners to leave the firm include Margaret Laidlaw, Laura Clarkson, Brian Hay-Smith, Keith Marshall, Fiona Martin, John McLeod, Liz Ritchie and Kevin Windram
“We are keen to grow our presence in Scotland and the arrival of this team will undoubtedly give us a significant boost,” said Phil Verity, Mazars’ UK senior partner.
In May, Mazars expanded its business in the east Midlands after it recruited six partners from RSM Tenon’s regional operations, including Nottingham managing partner Alistair Wesson, its Leicester office managing partner Chris Darlington, as well as Julian Clough, Steven English, David Hoose and Bob Johnson.
Paul Bevan, RSM Tenon’s former head of corporate finance in the Midlands and the North, left the firm to join Mazars’ east Midlands operation in August.

The recruitment drive marks an improvement in fortunes for the firm, which revealed last year that it could make up to 5% of its workforce redundant as part of a consultation process to cut costs.
RSM Tenon was bought out of administration by Baker Tilly earlier this year, following a period in which the firm had struggled to plug an accounting black hole and meet its banking covenants.
Earlier this week, RSM Tenon changed its registered entity names to that of Baker Tilly at Companies House.
