Interviews with Mazars, HW Fisher, Pizza Hut, BSI, plus the Finance Network chart of how FTSE 100 accountants are connected

IN THIS MONTH’S ISSUE of the Accountancy Age iPad App check out how the world of finance and directors are all inter-connected through their previous roles or non-executive and day-job titles. We look at FTSE 100 director data and highlight the major connections to other businesses. There is also an analysis which looks at the underlying issue surrounding this small world and whether there is a need to ensure fresh blood enters the business? It also asks the question of whether the boardroom needs to broaden out to ensure good governance and tackle diversity issues?

The consolidation in the mid-tier continues as Deloitte administrators announce a pre-pack of RSM Tenon, with Baker Tilly picking up the main trading entities. The analysis looks at the debt in RSM Tenon and Baker Tilly’s last results.

Other analysis include football club finance directors claiming that public scrutiny heaped onto football clubs is forcing them to pay more attention to corporate governance than if they were at a similar sized organisation away from football. Also HMRC’s IT contract is up and there could be changes afoot; while KPMG administrators announce they could return 100% to the creditors at MF Global.

There’s also interviews with the British Standard’s Institute finance director … and the interview with Pizza Hut finance director … makes you realise the huge undertaking by the finance function to ensure the continuity of the brand.

We also have HW Fisher’s managing partner Michael Davis explain the firm’s strategy and Mazar’s Phil Verity talks to Kevin Reed about the firm’s future.
Plus there’s an inciteful feature about changes to taxation having a possible knock-on effect to the structure of partnerships which will take accountancy firms into a new director.

There’s also opinions about the recent crack-down on tax avoidance strategies back-firing and changes to listed company reporting having to reflect environmental issues. Watch for the taking stock this month which see’s KPMG’s warning about cyber-attacks causing mayhem.
