Firm to audit accounts and value-for-money of Cancer Support Bradford & Airedale
BRADFORD-BASED Watson Buckle has been appointed as the new auditors for Cancer Support Bradford & Airedale.
The charity was set up in 1988 as a cancer support centre, and now helps 3,500 people a year. Based near the Bradford Royal Infirmary, it provides a range of support – from information and benefits advice to complementary therapies and counselling.
Watson Buckle, will provide a range of audit and advisory services, including a check of the effectiveness of the use of donations.
Linda Howard, Director of Cancer Support Bradford & Airedale, said: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Watson Buckle as our auditors.
“We look forward to working with them, ensuring that our accounts are in order and the charity is in a good financial state to continue to provide support to the people of Bradford and Airedale.”
Susan Sedgwick, managing partner at Watson Buckle, said: “As a Bradford firm we are keen to support local charities and organisations which is why we are delighted to have taken over the auditing of Cancer Support Bradford & Airedale.
The announcement caps a busy week for the firm which also recruited a new audit senior, Sarah Middleton, from Skipton-based Thomas Coombs & Son. An AAT-qualified technician, Middleton is hoping to complete her ACCA training this year.
