HW Fisher ramps up SME turnaround offering
Top 30 firm lines up distressed debt investors and sector specialists to turn around struggling SMEs
AN SME-FOCUSED turnaround service has been set up by top 30 firm HW Fisher.
Led by a mixture of the firm’s most senior corporate finance and insolvency specialists, the service will introduce distressed small businesses to turnaround experts and investors.
The firm has spent the last 18 months building up a core of external funding expertise to ramp up the offering into a more coherent service.
Leading the charge within the firm are insolvency partners Brian Johnson, and Nick O’Reilly, alongside corporate finance partners Gary Miller and Paul Beber.
“There is actually quite a lot of money floating around to be invested, and we already have strong relationships with a number of reputable private equity houses and private investors,” said Johnson.
“Our role is to thoroughly assess every part of the struggling company – from the balance sheets all the way through to marketing strategy, staffing and the composition of the board.
“Once a new strategy has been devised, we are able to present an impartial and financially sound proposal to potential investors, which will give the company a far greater chance of gaining funding. We are looking to help those who have a really good chance not only of survival, but also future success.”
