Sage appoints Donald Brydon as chairman

ACCOUNTANCY SOFTWARE provider Sage has named Donald Brydon as the successor to outgoing chairman Tony Hobson.
Brydon, who is currently chairman of Smiths Group and Royal Mail Group, will join the board of Sage on 6 July and will succeed Hobson on 1 September.
Since 1996, Brydon has been chairman of Amersham, TNS, London Metal Exchange and the international children’s development charity EveryChild, and SID of Allied Domecq plc and Scottish Power.
“Having recently overseen the transition to Guy Berruyer as chief executive, it is an appropriate time for me to pass the chairmanship on,” said Hobson.
The software company’s share price was 248p in this morning’s trading, up 0.30p. Its market capitalisation is £3.15bn.
