Corporate reporting falling short on risk but improving on sustainability, according to a new survey
RISK and the business model are two areas of weakness in today’s corporate reporting, according to a new survey by corporate communications agency Radley Yeldar.
Sustainability reporting is increasingly prioritised as a “strategic imperative … in achieving business goals”, which has made 2011’s reports more credible, the survey suggests.
Head of corporate reporting Clive Bidwell said: “Some of the best reporters have provided explicit explanations of their business models including insight into how sustainable that model is, and used this to set the context for the rest of the report.”
Capita, BAE Systems and Anglo American were noted for their strong annual reports, while Centrica was recognised for its online and sustainability reporting.
