Rake progresses to Barclays senior non-exec
Sir Mike Rake to take senior independent role at Barclays
FORMER KPMG International chairman Sir Mike Rake will serve as Barclays senior independent director.
Sir Mike, who joined Barclays as a non-exec in 2008, takes the senior independent role on 1 October when incumbent Sir Richard Broadbent steps down.
Sir Richard is a former executive chairman of HM Customs & Excise, between 2003 and 2003, prior to its merger with the Inland Revenue.

He has provided invaluable support to me in his role as deputy chairman and senior independent director, particularly during the recent financial crisis.
