PwC partner Pam Jackson wins accountancy category in Women in the City Awards

A PwC partner has picked up a Women in the City award, winning in the accountancy category.

Pam Jackson is a PwC partner and business unit leader of the mergers and acquisitions tax team.

Jackson has been active in the PwC Women’s Network, is one of the founders of both the firm’s female partner and director group, and is part of the company-wide mentoring scheme for women.

The judges said her work at PwC provides leadership and development training to women and encourages them to apply for senior positions.

They also noted that Jackson’s work in the Middle East has enabled her to act as a global champion, promoting gender diversity.

Gwen Rhys, CEO of Networking Culture and founder of the Women in the City awards, said: “Winning the accountancy category at the Women in the City Awards is a great way for women to raise their profile in the sector, whilst also promoting the role of successful professional women working in London.

“The judges felt Pam’s warm and enthusiastic approach, coupled with her high achieving finance professionalism were outstanding. It is an achievement for Pam, her firm and, perhaps most importantly, the reputation of women in senior positions everywhere.”

The award ceremony took place at the West End Rossi + Rossi gallery. Jackson’s award was presented by Sharron Gunn, director member services, ICAEW (pictured standing left of Pam Jackson).

The awards covered various categories including, financial services, accountancy, insurance and law.

With only three women occupying CEO roles and two female chairmen in the FTSE 100, Women in the City aims to encourage talented females and support them in breaking through the ranks to find equality in the property sector and the boardroom.
