Slow Paying police put SMEs under the cosh
Recent research from the Forum of Private Business has revealed that despite pressure from Government on all public bodies to pay trade invoices to SME suppliers on time, some police forces appear to have made little effort to help out. Obtaining the information using the Freedom of Information Act, the FPB has revealed that Merseyside police did not pay any invoice within 10 days. Nottinghamshire Police weren’t much better. On the positive side, the Police in Northern Ireland paid 82% of invoices in 10 days and 98% within 30. An excellent achievement!
One of the biggest problems facing SMEs in these difficult economic times is cash flow difficulties caused by slow paying customers. The last thing they need is police forces putting them under the same cosh I reckon!
