Charirites to benefit from free accounting services from students in Oxford
Accounting students are providing local charities with free access to
accountancy services, under a new scheme.
Oxford Brookes
University Business School will begin placements at seven different
charirites across Oxfordshire, giving up to half a day a week for a year to a
local charity. They will work on the charirties’ budgeting, record keeping and
bank reconciliations, among other help.
The project was developed alongside
Oxfordshire Community
and Voluntary Action and accountants Critchleys.
The sheme has been incorprorated into the university’s accounting degree.
“This scheme shows the positive and very real contribution students make to
their community,” said Catherine Dilnot, senior lecturer at Oxford Brookes’
Department of Accounting, Governance and Information Management.
