Institute advises on green reporting in annual statements
A guide on environmental reporting for annual financial statements is launched by the Environmental Agency and ICAEW
The ICAEW and Environment Agency has launched a guide for companies on how
they can report on green issues in their annual financial statements
Howard Pearce, head of environmental finance at the Environment Agency said:
“Both our organisations support enhanced disclosure and greater transparency in
public reporting and we believe that this will include strategic information,
risk assessment, analysis of value drivers and key environmental performance
indicators.”
“This paper has been written to support this stance and to help companies to
address these requirements when producing their financial reports,” he added.
The guide covers legal requirements and includes information on EU
environmental directives and the environmental implications of existing
accounting standards.
