Late filings of accounts increased by 25% over the four years to March 2008.

British companies are finding it more and more difficult to file on time,
according to the figures obtained by
the
Financial Times.

The trend has been especially marked in the past two years, in which late
filings increased by almost 10%.

A total of 238,699 British companies filed their accounts late last year.
