Accountants under investigation for perjury

Accountants John Dewar and Neil Fraser of
Bell &
Company
in Perth, are under investigation for perjury after giving evidence
in a civil court case against former racing driver Norman Dickson ,involving his
car dealership Dickson’s of Perth.

Tayside Police confirmed detectives were investigating the case and Serious
Organised Crime Agency officers in London have also been alerted to the perjury
allegations, the Daily Record reports.

In March 2007, during a seven-day hearing at Perth Sheriff Court, sheriff
Michael Anderson called Dickson a pathological liar and crook. Dewar, a senior
partner, and Fraser gave evidence, stating they had concerns regarding Dickson’s
conduct and had stopped acting for him.

They had filed a report to the National Criminal Intelligence Service about a
possible breach of money laundering regulations. Tayside Police were later
tipped off that the accountants’ evidence was allegedly untrue.
