Leeds-based Bartfields
Chartered Accountants has acquired the Leeds-based business services team of
its rival
BDO
Stoy Hayward for an undisclosed sum after two key BDO members retired.
The deal includes a core team of experienced staff covering members of the
accounts and tax team at BDO, based at Bridgewater Place in Leeds.
Ian Beaumont, lead partner at the Leeds office of accountants and business
advisors BDO Stoy Hayward, said that, following the retirement of Graham Berks
and Richard Brown, the key partners who ran that part of the business, the firm
lacked a partner to drive forward the accounts and tax business.
‘We concluded that it was more appropriate to look to sell it to a firm
specialising in this area,’ he told the Yorkshire Post.
