Job to die for: CFO at Standard Life

EVELYN BOURKE gets our stamp for job of the week after she
bagged the post of chief financial officer for Standard Life Assurance. Bourke,
under chief executive Trevor Matthews, will be working on the company’s life and
pensions arm for the UK and Europe. She ‘will ensure the division has a strong
financial discipline and that cost controls are in place’, boasts Matthews. As a
qualified actuary, Bourke originally joined the company in 2005 as its director
of strategy before a step up to group actuarial director.

MARTIN BAILEY who used to be group manager for Horwath Clark
Whitehill and, prior to that,a senior manager at PKF is now appointed senior
manager of audit and the business assurance team at RSM Robson Rhodes.

DAVID PORTER formerly a tax partner at KPMG is taking on the
role of corporate tax director at Chiltern. Porter believes that Chilterm has a
‘value for- money, full tax service offering second to none’ .He has worked in
tax for more than 15 years.

MARK ROBERTSON most recently the managing partner of Ford
Campbell’s Leeds office is set to become the twelfth partner at UHY Hacker
Young’s Manchester office instead. Robertson believes that, for the company’s
services to owner-managed business his ‘experience will help to continue this
thought process with an added flair for thinking outside the box’.

ANTHONY HART AND ANN-MARIE CLAPHAM have both joined Tennant
Land Partners, Hart as associate partner, taking care of staff allocation and
looking after the firms audit clients, while Clapham will be responsible for the
management of the corporate tax affairs and planning advice.
