    Andersen cuts 350 jobs

    Big Five firm Andersen is to slash up to 5% of its UK head count as the downturn in the UK economy begins to bite even deeper.

    Staff were informed this week but the firm is not expected set to announce the move until later today.

    Andersen will announce that the cuts will affect around 350 staff out of 7,000 in the UK. The job losses will come from all areas of the firm’s services.

    A spokesperson said: ?It is part of a business review making sure we have the right people in the right places to support our business plan and support our clients.’

    However, the firm offered assurances that the cuts would not affect graduate trainees.
