    TS found itself at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in London this week.

    Scanning the guest list, we noticed that senior types from new consolidator – sorry business integrator – Numerica were out in force. Ever polite we set off to make ourselves known to the table.

    However the pre-flotation frenzy that bedevils many a growing business cost chief executive Tony Sarin and FD Peter Jenkins their dinner.

    They were, we were told, back at the ranch. TS was pleased to see that Christopher McCann, their chairman, was still tucking into his chicken dinner. Sometimes you just have to soldier on … ?:
