Norwegian software house Agresso has launched an upgrade to its financial and logistics software packages. Agresso 5 includes the facility to store scanned documents within transaction records and an electronic mail distribution option which can send accounting forms to remote servers. The sites email back their replies for consolidation to the central server. Since 30 January, Agresso has been marketing its product directly in the UK, having taken over Bristol-based subsidiary Ampersand Systems.
Tax software specialist CSM is running a series of free seminars to tell accountants about the Inland Revenue’s proposed Electronic Lodgement System. The sessions can earn continuing professional development points and will include practical demonstrations of electronic submission using CSM’s TaxMan Windows package. The seminars will be held in March in Manchester, Leeds, Cardiff, London and the West Country. For details ring SCM on 0121-377 6366.
Alan Bates, fraud investigation partner at KPMG, and Gregory Smith, consulting forensic engineer at Trew & Co, are scheduled to talk at a seminar called ‘The Enemy Within’ to be held at the QEII Conference Centre in London on 5 March.
