Internet-based interactive financial systems received a boost this month with the launch of Great Plains Software’s Dynamics NetSeries range.

Three modules are currently available. Dynamics.View is a World Wide Web browser tool that allows users to interrogate Dynamics data. Dynamics.Order supports on-line ordering and Dynamics.NetTools provides building blocks for customers to tailor their own Internet applications within Dynamics (see Microsoft story below). Great Plains has added eight new partners to its UK reseller network: Ambridge Business Systems, BEC Carlaw, JM Computing, Hybrid IT, ICOS, Syscom and ‘consulting partner’ Williams Allen.

SAP, the German software house responsible for R/3 enterprise solutions, is the latest big player to announce healthy growth figures for the 1996 financial year. Net sales grew 38% to DM3.72bn ($2.39bn) in the year ended 31 December 1996. Non-German business accounted for 75% of sales, with u38m coming from UK licence sales.

Northern Foods Dairy Operations has selected Software 2000’s Infinium financial management product suite to replace its bespoke software system. The company has been running Software 2000’s sales ledger module since September 1994 and found the financial management package best suited its reporting requirements, said IS manager Trevor Hanna.
