Written by Ian Williams

Nokia has released the successor to its popular N95 handset, the N95 8GB, which sports a slightly bigger screen and 8GB of storage.

As with its predecessor, the N95 8GB includes a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, built-in A-GPS, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and the trademark two-way slide.

The screen size has been increased from 2.6in to 2.8in (240 x 320) QVGA and the expanded memory offers up to 20 hours of video or up to 6,000 songs.

The N95 8GB also supports Nokia's Ovi service platform, including the Nokia Music Store and N-Gage Games.

To celebrate the launch, Nokia has teamed up with Sony Pictures in Europe and selected countries in the Middle East and Africa to offer the N95 8GB pre-loaded with a full-length copy of Spiderman 3.

The movie comes in 10 languages and subtitle combinations, and includes a Spiderman 3 message, ring-tone, wallpaper and screen saver specially crafted for the new device.

The N95 8GB has an estimated retail price of €560 before taxes or subsidies for contract phone plans.
