The conviction of Enron chief executive Jeffrey Skilling has been thrown up into the air after a US court decided that his case should be reviewed.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ruled that Skilling's fraud conviction used law that only covered bribery and kickbacks, where his alleged misconduct did not involve either.
Although the conviction was not overturned, the case has been sent to a lower court for more proceedings, reported Reuters.
The Justice department said it would defend its conviction, and that of former Telegraph chairman Conrad black, whose conviction was also returned to the lower court for review.
