Cardiff City has been given more time to settle its outstanding tax bill with HM Revenue & Customs.

The High Court gave a 42 day adjournment to the club, which has reached the Championship play-offs, to settle its £1.9m tax bill, reported the BBC.

HM Revenue & Customs asked for the adjournment, having previously called on the club to be wound up unless the bill was settled.

Its current chairman Peter Ridsdale is stepping down, with new owners expected to pour more funds into the club.
