An accounting industry body has released a draft statement of principles aimed at raising the profile of internal auditors in public institutions.
The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) today released a draft statement which aimes to provide clarity around the role of internal audit.
Steve Freer, CIPFA Chief Executive said:
“The challenge for leaders and decision makers is not only to make cuts but also to design and deliver a new, well managed organisation which retains the capacity and capability to provide great services, albeit from a reduced resource base.”
