Accountant jailed for £1.3m fraud

An accountant has been jailed for four years after a fraud worth £1.3m at the auto dealership where she worked.
Tracey Laws, 43, of Gateshead, committed the fraud by raising cheques made out to herself but disguised the sums in the accounts as corporation tax payments. Her husband at the time helped launder the money through his bank, according to the Metro.
Laws is reported to have used the money on a new home for her mother, home improvements and a camper van. She was discovered when the company she worked for, Preston Hall BMW in Stockton, part of the Inchcape Group, changed its accounting system.

Progress
Due to remarkable progress in the instruments of Accountacy system, it is almost impossible to mislead. Therefore it is better to remain honest.
I believe the accountant also lost her membership she had (if any) in an accountacy body.
