Menzies has taken over from Vantis as HLB International's UK member firm, but it could soon be joined by other UK practices.
HLB is planning for the south-east based firm to be the first of a number of UK practices to join its new-style "federation".
The network is looking to set up national federations, where regional members will support each others growth and share best practice.
"We are looking for high-quality regional firms to fill our UK network gaps, and the candidates we are talking to demonstrate strong local reputations, an established track record, growth plans and a strong international focus,” explains James Frost, chief operating officer of HLB International.
Mike Sands, senior partner at Menzies, said: "We’ve been handling an increasing amount of international business and have been looking to further develop this side of its business. Given our growth plans, we believe that membership of HLB International presents a significant opportunity to further extend the international work that we do, particularly in relation to advising clients on cross-jurisdictional matters such as transfer pricing and international tax."
