Big Four firm Deloitte has named its former New Zealand chairman and chief executive as global managing partner for climate change and sustainability.

Nick Main will be based in London and will provide guidance to member firms on existing and evolving laws and regulations regarding greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability-related issues.

“In order to maximize competitive advantage and profitability in a low carbon world, businesses need to adopt practices that will enable them to realize high growth and low emissions,” said Main.

“Deloitte firm teams have significant expertise in sustainability. They have the local insight, global knowledge, and deployment capabilities to help clients navigate the current regulatory landscape and, most importantly, manage for the future.”
