Gordon Brown today promised tax cuts to boost growth in the economy, during the PM's question time, attacking David Cameron and the Tories for 'refusing to act'.
Speaking ahead of next Monday's critical pre-budget report, the PM said there would have to be 'fiscal expansion' to help hard-pressed families and businesses, the Guardian reports.
The PM's spokesman confirmed afterwards there would be measures to help small businesses affected by bank lending in Monday's PBR.
In a bitter exchange, Brown accused the Opposition of being the 'do-nothing party, warning their policies would harm the British economy, to which Cameron retorted: 'On this side of the house we have made our choice. It's called spending
