PricewaterhouseCoopers has taken on Malcolm Preston as chief executive of its sustainability and climate change practice.
The firm hopes to continue to grow its environmental auditing arm by helping companies to make short and long term cost savings through efficiency.
Preston will lead the sustainability team which consists of; Alan McGill, the former project developer at the Prince of Wales Accounting for Sustainability Initiative; Jon Williams, formerly at HSBC as head of sustainable development; and Will Day, a senior adviser to the United Nations Development Programme
Preston said: 'Sustainability is now a mainstream business issue, and the downturn is providing the ideal opportunity to examine short and long term financial and business opportunities that integrate sustainability into the supply chain, product development and financing.'
