Vantis accountants appear in court accused of tax evasion scheme

Senior executives from Vantis have appeared in court in connection with an alleged £219 million tax evasion scheme.

Roy Faichney, of Barnhill, Eastcote, and David Perrin, from Luton, appeared in Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Friday along side their wives and financial advisor Vikash Kulkar, from Twickenham following the HMRC allegations, the Uxbridge Gazette reports.

Faichney and Perrin are accused of setting up a sophisticated scheme which involved hundreds of clients including an Oscar winning film executive, a celebrity psychiatrist, senior City bankers, top barristers and company directors. The pair are expected to deny the charges at their next court appearance.

Together, the five face claims by HM Revenue and Customs of 'cheating her Majesty and the public revenue'.

In court, prosecution counsel Julian Christopher alleged Perrion and Faichney devised and promoted a tax scheme, “which took advantage of the legislation providing tax relief on the donations of share to charities".

The case continues at Blackfriars Crown Court on January 18.
