NetSuite targets ex-Sage staff

NetSuite, the online financial software company, is aggressively recruiting staff made redundant by Sage, the accountancy technology business, by staging an ongoing virtual careers fair.

NetSuite, in what is thought to be a highly unusual recruitment drive, started the internet-based campaign to recruit Sage staff earlier this month. It is also open to any ex-Sage employees, including the 400 made redundant from global operations last year.

A spokesman for NetSuite has said the careers fair has ‘exceeded expectations’ and that there are ‘high double digit’ numbers of people who have applied for positions.

It has issued this statement to all former Sage employees at the fair: ‘Are you a former Sage UK employee who has been offered a voluntary redundancy?’

Adding: ‘NetSuite is expanding our business in the United Kingdom and Europe and we’d like to hear from you!’

NetSuite, offered Sage Live customers, the online beta tested version of the company’s packages, a 50% discount off their first year in March 2009. Sage declined to comment.

Netsuite’s campaign is expected to run until the end of December 2009.
