Dairy Farmers of Britain in receivership

The dairy co-operative that employs 2,200 and has 1,800 farmer members across Great Britain has been placed into receivership.

Stephen Oldfield, David Kelly and Ian Green from PricewaterhouseCoopers were appointed joint receivers and managers.

The receivers are attempting to sell its liquids business, that supplies over one billion litres of milk to the food and drink industry, accounting for 10% of UK milk production.

Dairy Farmers of Britain will continue its daily collection of milk from farmers.
