Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan’s long running battle with the Australian taxman has stalled as a financial adviser at the centre of the case fights to keep details from the taxation office.

The Australian Taxation Office has hit a roadblock, after Hogan’s accountant Tony Stewart said he wanted to use his accountants concession to avoid revealing advice given to Hogan and film producer, John Cornell, Melbourne’s The Age newspaper reports.

The ATO argue that the concession does not apply because the information is sought as part of an Australian Crime Commission investigation.

So far the investigation has forced Big Four firm Ernst & Young’s Australian branch to hand over details.

The matter is now being argued in court.
