Sage, the FTSE100 accountancy software company, launched its latest enterprise resource planning offering today at Softworld which will now have online capabilities.

Sage, which is trying to increase its presence in the mid-market space, launched Sage 1000 in 2006 but its latest launc, X3, has added internet functionality.

"The new software allows the application to be hosted by the end user but not in the cloud," said Jim Scott, general manager of enterprise business at Sage.

He adds the new software has added functionality in comparison to Sage 1000 such as being available out of the box in eight languages but insists that they will continue to produce both products.
